Annika will be participating in a small sale at the Artful Dodger, an old english style pub that she worked at for several years. Other artists include Kinga Burjan; painter and mixed media artist and Bonnie Coole; Stained Glass artist. Stop by for a visit in a laid back setting.
Annika will be participating in a pop-up holiday sale at Aide Bodycare, a cold process soap + Apothecary shop located in Oshawa. Other featured vendors will include: Love Squared Kids, Cheesecake Medic, BonBom Bath, and Drop Dead Candles.

Annika has been a pottery class instructor as well as a studio member of the Mississauga Potters’ Guild since 2016. The sale takes place beside the studio in the adjacent unit.

The Mississauga Potters’ Guild, founded in 1978, is a non-profit volunteer organization. The Guild is run by members who have a passion for working in clay. The Guild has three levels of membership: General, Studio and Resident Artists. The members work together to advance the art and craft of pottery, maintain a studio with 24/7 access, offer classes and workshops for members and non-members, holds monthly meeting for members and participates in a variety of activities to showcase the work of members including exhibitions and sales.

Come by Xpace for their annual Zine and Maker fair and find all of your last-minute gifts from a variety of local makers. Situated between Dundas and College on the East side of the street, this event is short and sweet, so be sure to arrive early for the best selection.

In this three-hour workshop, each participant will learn how to make fundamental forms with clay using the slab-built method. Each person will be given 3lbs of cone 6 mid-porcelain clay, and access to tools and underglazes to build and decorate their own unique Mug, Espresso Cup, Vase or Planter. Two or more pieces can be made, depending on the size. Surface techniques will be explored with underglaze and carving, to create beautiful AND functional pieces. There will be examples of finished pieces available to reference for your design choices. No experience required!

*To make the most of this workshop, please wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty and trim your fingernails! Long nails dig into the clay and mark up your work.
The pieces made during the class will be transported to Annika’s studio where they will be bisque fired, coated with clear glaze and fired to cone 6. The finished work will be returned to RAWspace, where they can be picked up 2 weeks after the class.
*Annika will do her best to ensure all of the pieces survive with fantastic results, but clay can be quite unpredictable and results may vary from example pieces.
